Core Visualization Suction Instrument
The core visualization imbibition apparatus includes placing a saturated core sample in an imbibition bottle filled with liquid. The core sample needs to be soaked in the imbibition vessel for sufficient time to allow the liquid to fully penetrate the pores of the rock sample, displacing the oil in the rock pores (expelling the oil from the rock sample). The liquid maintains a constant and uniform temperature distribution. Using the principle of different specific gravities of oil and water, the lighter oil floats up into the measuring tube. By reading the scale on the measuring tube, the amount of expelled oil can be accurately measured. The device consists of a sealed glass container imbibition vessel and a graduated measuring tube positioned above it. Each vessel has a safety valve to release pressure when over-pressurized, and independent pressure sensors display the working pressure of the corresponding imbibition vessel.
