Supercritical extraction technology is the latest discipline emerging in modern chemical separation and is currently an advanced separation process gaining international prominence. A supercritical fluid refers to a fluid whose thermodynamic state is above the critical point (Pc, Tc). The critical point is the state where the gas-liquid interface just disappears. Supercritical fluids possess very unique physicochemical properties: their density is close to that of liquids, viscosity is close to that of gases, and they have high diffusion coefficients, low viscosity, and high dielectric constants, making them excellent solvents with good separation effects. Supercritical extraction involves fully contacting the solvent with the material to be extracted in the extraction vessel under appropriate pressure and temperature, allowing the solute to diffuse into the solvent. Then, by changing the operating conditions in the separator, the dissolved substances precipitate out to achieve separation.
