Successful production launch! Bohai hundred-million-ton oilfield +1

On July 22, the development project of the 100-million-ton-level oilfield in Bohai, China — Kenli 10-2 oilfield — was successfully put into production.
Today (July 22), reporters learned from China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) that located China's Bohai hundred-million-ton oilfield—the Kenli 10-2 oilfield development project has successfully started production , marking China's largest offshore shallow clastic oilfield officially entering the production phase.
The Kenli 10-2 oilfield is located in the southern Bohai Sea area, about 245 kilometers from Tianjin City, with an average regional water depth of about 20 meters. It has proven geological reserves exceeding 100 million tons and is the first hundred-million-ton clastic oilfield discovered in the shallow layers of the Bohai Bay Basin depression zone.
The Kenli 10-2 oilfield is China's first offshore development of a dendritic heavy oil reservoir. The underground oil and gas are distributed in narrow, curved sand bodies, with different sand bodies interwoven like the shadows of tree branches on the ground, presenting a "dendritic" pattern. It features scattered reserve distribution, complex geological conditions, and a wide range of underground crude oil viscosity, making extraction difficult.
The successful production start of the Kenli 10-2 oilfield development project marks a new stage in the development of complex offshore heavy oil reservoirs in China. It has accumulated experience for the subsequent development of similar reservoirs and will strongly promote the achievement of the annual oil and gas production target of 40 million tons for China's largest offshore oilfield—the Bohai oilfield—within the year.
